Our First Place? Maybe…Maybe Not.

So, as most of you know Jim and I Front of homehave decided to search for houses in the Arlington area.  We are looking for something with at least 3 bedrooms so that we will be able to “expand” our family in a few backyard 2years and still have enough room for  everyone to be comfortable.  We want a big back yard for the kids to play in (and so Jim can grow his vegetable garden).   We wanted to backyardmake sure that if it only had 3 bedrooms that it would also have a bonus room because we want a place for our  office/playroom and eventually guest room (when number 3 decides to come along ::wink::wink:: ) I wanted an open floor plan although that wasn’t something we “had” to have.   Along bonus roomwith the ones mentioned above there  are a ton of   other “preferences” we had concerning our first house.  (i.e. dark cabinets/counter tops in the kitchen, extra storage space, big master bath, etc.)  Well, turns outliving room we found a place that has all these things plus more.  Granted it needs a little TLC, BUT its in our price range and has all our needs and most of our wants.   We are really excited about this place and maybe, just MAYBE we’ll put in an offer that gets accepted.  Right now we’re sitting on the idea and prayingliving dining room about it.  We want to make sure that this is the right decision.  The house is in our target neighborhood of Arlington and the neighborhood actually backs up to the high school which is wonderful in our opinion.  The town is small (which we really like) but is still located in Shelby County so its got a great school system dining room(the high school just opened in 2006).  The only fast food place in the town is McDonalds and there’s one gym and a few restaurants (mom and pop restaurants) and a kitchenKroger.  Other than that its almost in Fayette County and pretty much in the middle of nowhere right now.  I know that a lot of people think that we kitchen 2should look somewhere that has “more to offer” so to speak but I really feel like this is an up and coming neighborhood and one day I truly  believe Arlington will be like  another Germantown/Collierville area.  Now is the time to get into this town while the prices are down and its full of young professionals.  second bathEvery time we drive through the neighborhood this house is in there master bathare kids everywhere (at least when the weather is nice).  We’re really excited about this step in our lives together and can’t master bedroomwait to make the move out of this tiny apartment. (I feel like we’re packed in here like a bunch of sardines! LoL.)  Anyways, if this house falls through then we’ll continue  looking for something else but lets keep our fingers crossed that it doesn’t!

On another note, Lucas has figured out how to get from one side of the room to the other…by rolling.  We seriously need to get out of this apartment before those boys become mobile or I’m NEVER going to get a break LoL.  As it is you can’t leave them both laying on the floor on the blanket anymore because they will wiggle and roll until they are on top of one another.   Its so funny cause when they get next to each other, Lucas just stares at Wyatt but Wyatt likes to grab Lucas’s face which of course leads to Lucas screaming until you get Wyatt away from him.  Its never ending!

Wyatt and Lucas are growing so fast and I just want to be where we’ll have more room and where there’s an option for Jim and I to meet other young couples with young children.  I want play dates, but mostly I want friends for the boys.  Children from a good home that they can grow up with.  On that note, I’ve got some cleaning up do to around here.  Leave a comment and let us know what you think about the house. (I took a video but for the life of me can’t get it to upload online! errr.)  We love it and it look A LOT different with all the furniture gone. (We’re not big fans of the “style” they used.)  If we get the house we’re thinking of putting built in shelves in the ‘cutouts’ on either side of the fireplace and we’re going to get rid of the awful boarder in the kitchen in between the counter and breakfast bar.  Eventually we’d also like to rip out the carpet in the master bath and lay down tile all the way through but that’s a big project we can hold off on for now.  We’d paint the whole house and in the end it would be our own.  Let us know what you think, any and all opinions are welcome! :)
